Lori Fenstermaker is the founder and principal of Automatic LLC, a boutique recruitment and sourcing services firm. She also founded and leads AutoSearch LLC. AutoSearch is a simple-to-use web-based sourcing platform used by recruiters and sourcers.

Lori started in the temporary staffing industry at the young age of 19 as a receptionist. Her managers quickly saw her gift of aligning people with requisitions and moved her into account management. In her new position, she used creative recruitment strategies to drastically improve the company’s revenues and market share.

Lori went on to work within several national and boutique search firms where she learned the ins-and-outs of the recruiting industry. In 1998, she became in-house recruiter for a Chicago-based IT services firm where she was recognized as a top producer and went on to serve as an account executive in multi-million dollar software implementations and web projects. After the dot-com boom ended, Lori helped launch and grow a company of virtual IT recruiters focused on specialized positions throughout the Midwest.

After starting a family, Lori decided to start her own boutique recruitment services firm with a unique business model of deriving revenue on a time and materials basis instead of the traditional contingent and retained model. Clients love the partnership model and as a result; she has become a trusted human capital adviser for her clients. Leading search projects and sourcing teams across a broad range of industries, Lori has worked with corporations and 3rd party agencies alike to deliver solutions that provide ROI and competitive advantages.

Her passion to uncover the best prospects for her clients in the most efficient manner resulted in building a web-based sourcing platform called AutoSearch. AutoSearch is a simple yet powerful tool that automates the need to write complicated Boolean search strings. AutoSearch is now being used by recruiters and sourcers in corporations and 3rd party agencies across the globe. In 2009 AutoSearch Mobile was launched for the iPhone and iPod Touch allowing recruiters and sourcers to source “on the go”.
Lori’s passion for helping her clients and subscribers succeed on their own is reflected in her consistent sharing of her techniques and knowledge and is delighted to hear when a client lands a great candidate.

In addition to her recruiting responsibilities, Lori sits on the board of a non-profit group called The Ella Bullis Foundation. Their mission is to provide financial and personal support to families with a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
